The Most Magical Place for a 28th Birthday Celebration, Part 3

image

Saturday morning was another early one, because Hollywood Studios had early extra magic hours and we couldn’t miss the chance to get even more done.

They do rope drop here, too, and prevent you from going to the rides until it’s really time to open up. I took pictures while we waited.

Once it was officially opening time, the cast members walked everyone slowly back to the different parts of the park – some to the adventure rides like Rock N' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror and others like us to Toy Story Midway Mania. They have the entire back of the park decorated with various characters from Pixar, in fact, it’s called Pixar Place.

I love the Toy Story ride. It’s got fun decorations in the queue and the interactive game is so much fun.

Once Hubs beat me in the game, as usual, we got to experience the new Star Tours.

We rode it twice and got the pod racer ending and Nabuu for the other one. I wanted to ride it all day long, if I could have! The 3D experience that they added – it really takes the whole ride to a new level!

I even got up my courage to tackle the Tower of Terror again. When I rode it for the first time a few years ago, I had a full blown panic attack. As a kid, I was stuck in an elevator at one point and heights have always bothered me. I really wanted to try the ride but Hubs kept needling me and by the time I got on the ride, I was so freaking out that I was sobbing when we dropped the first time. I got off the ride and had to sit down for a while, to calm down. But this time around? I actually enjoyed it! I conquered the fear and had a good time doing it.

I love the Muppets. Whenever we go to Hollywood Studios, we have to see this attraction. But this time, when standing in line, we noticed eyeballs on top of the lights!

And those aren’t Miss Piggy’s evening gowns… I’m sure those boxes are mine!

Later on in the day, we went back to the Polynesian to get dressed for California Grill that evening to celebrate my birthday!

  2. Potato Head was one of my favorite things about Toy Story Mania! It's going to be a tough choice between it and Rockin' Roller Coaster for first ride to ride at MGM!
